Kelly Clarkson, an American performer, songwriter, and actress who was crowned the American Idol competition in its debut season, and became America's Sweetheart. Not only was she pushed into stardom by her win however, she also signed an agreement to record multiple albums with RCA Records 19 Recordings & 'S Records. Since then, she has released a number of studio albums. Three of them topped the US Billboard 200 chart, and others were just a little off. She was among America's top performers. She experimented as she gained success with diverse musical and theme styles. She often composed her own songs. Because of her distinctiveness and vocal prowess, she received critical acclaim as well as a variety of prizes. Most notably she has won three times the Grammy Award three times. Apart from her music career she has been featured in movies and television shows. She also wrote the children's book River Rose and the Magical Lullaby and has been involved with various charitable organizations.
